You'll really enjoy these few days like no one else, because no one you know has ever been to Jersey before. The small island between Britain and France is still relatively unknown to us.

You'll leave Prague on Friday around 3pm with a change of planes in London, from where Jersey is just a half-hour flight away. The transfer from the airport to your hotel in the capital St. Hellier will take about ten minutes, and you'll still have time for fish and chips for dinner. Or you can go straight for the oysters, which are amazing and cheap in Jersey.

After breakfast on Saturday, it's time to explore the town centre with its quaint cafes, shops and markets. For lunch, there's a fresh fish speciality. Then spend the afternoon in the north of the island - either just wandering the wild coastline or visiting one of the several castles and fortresses. Or perhaps a visit to an underground World War II hospital. In the evening, you can't miss the fish specialities again.

After breakfast on Sunday, it's time to buy an ice cream with locally famous Jersey cream and head out after low tide along the otherwise sea-flooded walkway to Elizabeth Castle. Just be careful on your tour, don't stretch it too much, so you can get back on foot again before high tide - otherwise the coastguard will have to come for you. For a late lunch, you can't miss the oysters again as a farewell, and by then you'll have a transfer back to the airport. Then it's a short transfer to Heathrow for the flight back home, and you'll have time to tell the kids a bedtime story in the evening.
